Coming Soon...... "Look who's talkin"

We know that our owners love to tell us about their pets and the crazy things they get up to. Not all well behaved stories mind you, but often entertaining or tales to make us marvel at how brilliant and valuable pets are to their owners and the community!

At Abbeyfields in Rocester we get the privilege of meeting these great animals and thought it would brighten your day to share their stories and characters with you and your friends.

Here's a few of them...

There's Katie, the miniature schnauzer . An old lady now, in her prime she posed as the model at 6 months old for Sherratt and Simpson's schnauzer figurine.

Then there's Molly, a Labrador, who can sense when her owner may about to have a fit.

Or Tilly, the Jack Russell pup who took a leap out of a 1st floor window and landed unscathed!

And Buddy , the Jack Russell who got into a de-icer spray can and had to drink vodka hourly for 24 hours as an antidote

We will be meeting many of these pets, in a new regular feature. But we would also really like to invite pets known to the Practice to start the feature rolling and share their stories.

Have you got a great pet to tell us about?

To join in , simply answer 5 questions about your pet and send us a digital picture we can display in our gallery. (CLICK HERE FOR THE QUESTIONS and terms)

In return we would love to give your pet a front page slot on our web site and in the Veterinary Surgery, for all pet lovers to see.

Go on, join in! You never know who may like to read it...

She Qualifies!

Some good news to pass onto everyone connected with Abbeyfields Vets in Rocester.

Rosie Campbell, our hard working Trainee Veterinary Nurse, has crossed the final hurdle to gaining her final qualification as a Veterinary Nurse!
Rosie took her final practical exams in December 2011 and today she received her notification from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, informing her she had passed.

Rosie can now join the Register of Veterinary Nurses and has worked hard for a qualification that recognises her dedication and expertise.
Thanks go to everyone at the Practice who helped Rosie along the way, Sarah and Jude from Bottle Green Training in Melbourne, who run a Veterinary Nurse training programme which knocks the socks off a lot of other course Providers and of course the many visiting pets who volunteered to be featured in Rosie's case work.

Pet Olympic Calendar Project comes to an End…

On behalf of everyone at Abbeyfields Vets in Rocester, Catrina and Julie would like to extend our grateful thanks to everyone who helped with the Olympic style Calendar featuring your pets.

Mention must go to the business owners who sponsored the project, everyone who bought the Calendar, everyone who sold the Calendar and, of course, all the pet owners and their pets who contributed an array of photographs that made judging a difficult task.

Totting up our fund raising so far, the Calendars have raised approximately £1200 in sales and we shall be dividing all the profits between our 2 chosen charities at the end of January!

Any further donations are gratefully received at www.justgiving.com/Abbeyfields-Vets
