Tips for Pet Health

Abbeyfields Vets

To promote rabbit well-being we have launched a new Rabbit Yearly Health Package.

For the single annual payment of £80 we will provide your bunny with 2 FREE six monthly health checks, 2 myxomatosis vaccines, a single annual VHD vaccine and a tube of Panacur Rabbit wormer. Insured clients also will receive 25% discount.

To make sure your rabbit remains healthy it should be examined on a regular basis.

  1. Teeth and nails must be checked regularly to ensure they do not become overgrown, which could cause pain and difficulties.
  2. The eyes should be bright, clear and free of discharges.
  3. You should check that the rabbit is eating normally not drinking excessively.
  4. Vaccinations are important for maintaining your rabbits health and protecting it and other rabbits from diseases such as myxomatosis and viral haemorrhagic disease. Both of these diseases are highly infectious and are always fatal.

Rabbits are very social animals and are happy living in family groups as long as the male or female have been neutered . Neutering is a very straight forward operation and does not usually involve an overnight stay.

The cost of neutering is...

  • Rabbit Spay £55.00
  • Rabbit Castrate £45.00
